He was predeceased by: his parents, Sophus Christensen and Bernice Christensen; his parents-in-law, L. D. and Mildred Houghton; his siblings, Eloise, Lyle and Gene Christensen; and his siblings-in-law, Bruce Johnson and Phyllis Van Zyell.
He is survived by: his wife Joann Houghton; his sons, Thomas Christensen (Sandy Frye), Joe Christensen (Rose) and Del Christensen (Kim); his siblings, Ruth Ann Johnson and Bruce Christensen (Ruth); and his sisters-in-law, Ann Christensen, Connie Rutledge, Aldene Bush and Elaine Johnson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
