He was predeceased by: his wife Beverly Sanders; his parents, Ernest Sanders and Rosa Sanders (Young); and his siblings, Leland Sanders, Gerald Sanders, Wilma Greening, Agnes Swanson and Rachel Sanders.

He is survived by: his children, Paul Sanders (Ronda), Thomas Sanders (Kathy) and Christine Sharpe (David); and his brothers, Dale Sanders (Carol) and David Sanders (Diane). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
