He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas DeWitt and Hazel DeWitt (Patterson); his daughter Judy Jewell; and his sisters, Vivian Honderd and Thelma Young.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Jean King; his children, Sherry, Bob Higgins of Greenville, Bruce DeWitt, Rita Grabinski of Greenville and Hugh DeWitt of Walker; his grandchildren, Scott, Teague, Todd, Jennifer, Samuel and Benjamin; and his friend Bob Wuelfing. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
