He was predeceased by: his father Jonas D. Newell. He is survived by: his mother Bonnie L. Newell (Poort) of Muskegon; his wife Peggy; his children, Derek Newell (Amanda) of Muskegon, Kayla Newell of Alma and Gilbert Chaffin of Bangor; his grandchildren, Madison Newell, Cameron Palmer and Bram Eller; his brothers, Darrell Newell of Muskegon and Brian Newell (Terri) of Clare; and his stepsisters, Maryann Clark of Texas and Tina Dalton of Colorado. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
