He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Reed and Viola Reed; his siblings, LeRoy and Maralyn; and his son Robert "Bob".

He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Jean McGee; his children, Debbie Abbott (Steve) and Rich Reed (Karen); his grandchildren, Sarah Fenske (Cameron), Eric Abbott (Sara) and Nicole Reed; his great grandchildren, Benaiah, Elijah, Andrew Fenske and Hanna Abbott; his sister Kathy King (John); and his brother-in-law David McGee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
