She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Obediah Nichols and Myrtle Kent-Nichols; her daughter Debi Hunter of Greenville; her grandchildren, Dustin Roy (Melanie), Craig Hunter, Jennifer Nichols (Dan), Michael Hunter of Greenville, Chad Merritt of Sidney and Andy Merritt (Mandi) of Gowen; her siblings, Helen Wright of Greenville, Edith Cooper of Trufant, Ethel Johnson (Frank) of Stanton, Richard "Butch" Nichols of Mecosta and Bill Nichols (Val) of Greenville; her husband Kenneth W. Merritt; and her son Gale Merritt. She was also cherished by 9 great grandchildren.
