He is survived by: his wife Lila; his sons, Neal of Pierson, Mark of Stanton and Mike of Stanton; his grandchildren, Carrie Eyer (Greg), Chanda Olmstead (Erik Engle), John Olmstead (Robin) and Wade Patterson; his great grandchildren, Paige Hansen (Tyler Polovino), Logan Hansen, Addalyn Olmstead, Blake Olmstead, Avery Olmstead and Matheson Eyer; his great great grandchild Brodie Polovino; his sisters, Helen Bannen, Jean Nielsen (Rit) and Anna Linebaugh; and his siblings-in-law, Layton Ruge (June) and Linda Shavalier. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
