He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Annette Merchant (Nordberg) and Lawrence Merchant. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Merchant; his daughters, Robyn (Andrew Schut) and Amy (Chuck Foehr); his grandchildren, Collin, Sophia Foehr and Mason Schut; and his daughters, Lukas and Kara Schut.
Honoring his wishes for simplicity, cremation has taken place and contributions in memory of Jim, can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or Corewell Health Hospice (formerly Spectrum Health Hospice).
