He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Marshall and Mildred Irene Sherd (Hoyt); his grandson Jared Christiansen; his siblings, Harold Sherd, Robert Sherd, Marshall "Joe" Sherd, Velma Townsend, Dorothy Fields, Gerald Sherd and Duane Sherd; his stepchildren, Deborah Lyons, Denise Dilley and Ed Clark; his sister-in-law Bonnie Dakin; and his nephew Chad Dakin.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Clark (Holderman); his children, Cindy (Jerry Christiansen), Jodie (Brad Hallock), Julie Harding of Greenville and Mark (Kendra Sherd); his siblings, Mary Sherd of Sheridan and Dick Harriman of Fenwick; his stepson Ken; his stepson-in-law Patrick Dilley; and his siblings-in-law, Ann Harden of Brutus, Jim Dakin of Greenville and Phyllis Holderman-VanDyke of Arizona. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
