He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Shook and Ruby Shook (Ackles); his son Sandy Shook; his grandson Mike Upton; his brother Jack Shook; and his pets, Sparky and Cody.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Shook Jr. (Deb), Tim Shook, Tammy Blair (Gary) and Tandi Mosier (Douglas); his siblings, Kathalene Herington (Harry) and Jody Shook; and his pet Sequoia. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren.
