He is survived by: his former wife Helga Krystek; his wife Helga Kohl; his daughters, Heidi Brown and Karen Simons (Adam); and his grandchildren, Robert Brown (Alisha), Lisa Brown Bruinsma (David), Olivia Simons and Jack Simons. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
