He was predeceased by: his parents, Vern D. Scott and Ola Scott (Taylor); his wife Carol McKendry; his sister Iris Heche; and his son Kevin Scott.

He is survived by: his children, Marshe Suderman (Brad) of Three Rivers and Alan Scott (Ellen) of Cheboygan; his sister Doris Hessler; his grandchildren, Nathan Remynse (Rachel), Beth Fryling (Christopher), Michael Scott (Ashlynn) and Matthew Scott (Kandice); and his great grandchildren, Brayden, Brady, Malachi, Gideon, Jackson, Elijah and Jacob. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
