He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raymond Root and Myrtle Root; his wife Joann Strachan; his siblings, Ellen Germain (Dale Waskiewicz) of Grayling and Thomas Root of Arizona; his sisters-in-law, Jean Strachan of Grayling and Helen Williams (Hershell); his nieces and nephews, Jimmy and Kelly; his brother-in-law Alexander Strachan of Farmington; and his brother Jack. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews and friends.
