He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilford Brief (Gil) and Agnes Brief (Boehnlein); and his brother Charles Brief (Bill). He is survived by: his wife Gayla Brief (Simmons); his children, Joe Brief of Midland, MI, Bill Brief of Palm Springs, CA and Melissa Putney (Jeff) of Beulah, MI.; his stepsons, Chris Seeley of Traverse City, Doug Seeley of Traverse City and Nik Seeley of Traverse City; his grandchildren, Olivia Seeley, Dylan Brief, Madison Seeley, Dylan Seeley, Evelyn Putney and Logan Seeley; and his brothers, Steve Brief (Robin) of Midland, MI, Mike Brief of Beulah, MI and Pat Brief of Midland, MI.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
