He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Howard and Dorothy Irene Fink (Ellis); his sister Karen Haywood; and his children, Ray Preston, Mitchell Preston and Charlotte Fink.
He is survived by: his wife Karla Kay Otrambo; his children, Sandy Rickel (John Jr.) and Fred Ball (Laura); and his grandchildren, Jade Heaviland, Dylan Medeiros, Mia Rickel, Noa Rickel and Brad Smith.
