Marvin Jay Teusink Obituary
Marvin Jay Teusink, age 91, born on June 4, 1930 and passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter -Nora in Evart, on September 23, 2021.
He was the beloved husband of the late Wilma Kruithoff for 37 years, and remarried to Dorothy Wieringa in 1991, and was married to her for 29 years before she passed away.
Marvin was the beloved father to Karen (Jon) Dalton, Morris (Linzi) Teusink, John (Betty) Teusink, Nora (Steve) Eastway, Paul (Monica) Teusink, Mary (Donald) Feltner and Phil (Dawn) Teusink. Marvin is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He grew up on Dutch Lake in Fremont. Marvin lived and worked on a dairy farm in Grant for most of his life, in addition to working for 25 years at GM Fisher Body in Grand Rapids. He worked long hard hours to provide for his family. He retired from GM early to care for his wife, Wilma, after she lost her eyesight. Marvin and Dorothy were a part of SOWERS, a Christian Ministry group that traveled around to help build homes and provide disaster relief. Marvin was also the head of maintenance for CRC Conference Center in Grand Haven and highly involved at Love Inc. in Newaygo.
Marvin could fix pretty much anything and was very meticulous about pretty much everything. Marvin will be remembered for being a hardworking, determined person. He will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1st from 12:30pm until the Funeral Service at 2pm at Grant Christian Reformed Church. From 12:30pm-2pm, refreshments and lunch will also be served at the church. Marvin will be laid to rest at Reeman Cemetery in Fremont following the funeral.
