He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Apel and Eleanor Apel (Piatek); his siblings, Kevin Apel and Carla Zergoski; and his nieces, Melanie Apel and Erica Sevigny.
He is survived by: his children, Jeremiah Apel and Christina Schijanow (Steven); his grandchildren, Randall Apel and Lucy Schijanow; and his siblings, Eric Apel, Greg Apel, Shawn Apel, Roberta Cole and Charmaine Benoit. He is also survived by family members and friends.
