He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Dustin (Anna) of Grant; his grandson Preston; his mother Frances Timmermans; his siblings, Marcia Walker of Newaygo, Linda Butler (Curtis) of Grant, Debra Byma (John) of Kent City, Mary Brisbin (Mark) of Grant, Sandra Smith (Kevin) of Grant, Michelle Bent (Mike) of Comstock Park, Richard Furman of Grant, Ronald Furman (Rhonda) of Newaygo, Mark Furman (Tammy) of Newaygo and Jeff Furman of Grant; his father Louis "Red" Axel Faye Furman; his nephew Matthew Brisbin; and his great-niece Rory Bent-Buist. He was also cherished by 23 nieces and nephews; 31 great-nephews and nieces.
