He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Wierenga; and his great grandchild Joseph Theodore Garvin. He is survived by: his children, Valerie Wierenga, Doug Wierenga (Anna), Patti Schoettley (Jim) and Kathy West (Steven). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In honor of Theodore and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Helen DeVos Children's Research Hospital and Wounded Warrior Project.
