Sidney Harkema Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sidney Harkema (Grandville, Michigan), who passed away on March 18, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Steven Harkema and Renske Harkema; his sisters, Joan VanderWey, Tina Vunderink and Anne Renkema; his son-in-law Robert Faber (Ria); and his granddaughter Michelle Faber.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Ria Faber, Dave, Elisabeth Faber, Kim, Randy Kuiper, Eric and Katie Faber; his children, Steve, Bev Harkema, Nathan, Scott, Lauren, Joel, Kelly Harkema, Ellen, Dale Biros, Michael Biros, Elizabeth, Hunter Hall, Matthew Biros, Susan, Todd Jeurink, Chris, Meghan Jeurink, Drew Jeurink, Sydney, Koda Sanders, Lisa Harkema and Rich Owings; and his sisters, Janet Bakelaar and Betty Hordyk (William). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church (1571 Baldwin St, Jenison, MI 49428).
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be given to Fellowship Church of Traverse City or Calvin University.
