He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Alberts and Esther V. Ek (VanEck); his brother David Alberts; and his great grandchildren, Swan Groom and Mason Gonzalez.
He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Cynthia Alberts, Karen Thauer (Ed), Susan Groom (Jed), John Alberts (Jacoba), Judith Burnham (Eric), Mike Crooks (Donna), Steve Crooks (Tara) and Laura DenHartigh (Simon); and his brother Jim Ek. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
