He was predeceased by: his parents, William Houten and Lucille Van Houten; and his sisters, Marybeth and Lois Sue. He is survived by: his wife Jean (Werkema); his children, Kristi (Bruce Albin), Dennis (Marcy Van Houten), Julie (Steven Molewyk) and Susan (Nick Delauter); and his siblings-in-law, Carol Werkema, David and April Werkema. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to World Mission, 4200 Alpine Ave. NW, Comstock Park, MI 49321, for African well projects.
