He was predeceased by: his daughter Mary Ann Messock; his parents, John J. Messock and Helen Messock; his siblings, John Messock (Jacqueline), James Messock, Esther Messock, Dorothy Shick (Paul) and Helen E. Messock; and his nephews, David Messock, Steve Shick and Steve VandenBrink.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Messock (Leo); his children, Michelle Vlug (Dave) and Patrick Messock (Krista); his grandchildren, Kailey Porter (Austin), Alexis Vlug, Ryan, Tyler, Katelyn and Brady Messock; his great grandchildren, Zavier Sovis, Case, Payson and Cole Porter; and his nieces and nephews, Margaret, Harry Worst, Therese VandenBrink, Jackie Messock Jr., Kathy Shick, Lorraine and Mike Vogel.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. A rosary was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary (3525 Remembrance Rd NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Holy Spirit Church (2230 Lake Michigan Dr NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504).
