He was predeceased by: his wife Alice Burggraaff. He is survived by: his children, Sue, Paul DeRoo, Cindy, Pat Pike, Peter Burggraaff, Thomas Burggraaff, Leslie and J. D. Gonzales. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
