He was predeceased by: his wife Jeanette; his parents, Toivo Lake and Valva Williams; and his daughter-in-law Sally Lake. He is survived by: his sister Judy Doehring; his children, Christine Lake, Cheryl Lake (Weeks), Andrew Lake, Matthew Lake (Kristen), Tobi, Angela Kowalczyk (Philip) and Gregory Lake; and his grandchildren, Brennan Lowry, Shannon Lake, Rozalyn, Madelyn and Ethan Kowalczyk.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, May 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Spirit Church (2230 Lake Michigan Dr NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504).

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
