With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Joseph Philbin Jr. of Grand Rapids, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 21, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Thomas Joseph departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Thomas Joseph may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Thomas Joseph leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas J., Sr. and Dorothy; and his sister Joellyn Philbin. He is survived by: his wife Elisa; his children, Annalissa Philbin (Daniel Shay), Roland Anthony Philbin and Jessica Lyn (Steve Nagle); and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Shay and Brandon Shay.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (1935 Plymouth Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a Mass Intention in his name.
