He is survived by: his children, Edward Bendekgey (Jean), Dena Bendekgey, Gina Figurski (Mark), Darla Bendekgey, Shawnda Nguyen (Tony) and Christopher Bendekgey (Etta); and his sisters, Joan Briggs (Charles), Sandra Brinkert and Elizabeth Clayton (James). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
