Steven Jonio Obituary
Steven H. Jonio, age 65, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019. He was born November 22, 1953 in Grand Rapids, MI to John and Margaret (Courtade) Jonio. On July 24, 1982, he married the former Candy Bailey in Coopersville, MI and she preceded him in death on February 18, 2011. Steven worked over 40 years as a machinist and press operator for Dake Corporation before retiring.
He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Crockery Township Fire Department for 10 years. SURVIVORS include his son, Justin (Melissa) Jonio; 2 granddaughters, Hope and Aubrey Jonio; his mother, Margaret Jonio; 2 brothers, Ron Jonio, Kevin (Erlinda) Jonio; 2 sisters, Theresa Ketner, Karen Jonio; mother-in-law, Carol Bailey; 1 sister-in-law, Robin (Donald) Currier; 2 brothers-in-law, Tim (Lynn) Bailey and Mike (Leslie) Bailey; 1 close nephew, Jake Currier, and many other nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his father, John Jonio and his brother, Kenneth Jonio. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 7, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. VISITATION will be held one hour prior, 10-11AM Monday. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
