He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Hews and Verda Hews; and his brother Russell Hews. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl; his children, Derek Hews (Julie) and Shelby Chapman (Lee); his granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Kinsley and Marian; and his sister Judith Dame. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and special cousins.
