With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sandra Kay VanCoevering (Grand Rapids, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 25, 2025 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Jelsma and Mildred Jelsma; her grandchildren, Joshua Wilder, Davey Mayville and Alex Verburg; and her close friend Mary Mackenzie.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin Jelsma and Deborah Finkler (Ken); her grandchildren, Brandon Jelsma, Jacob Halstead, Brittany Rivera (Johnathan), Sebastian Konkle and Blade Konkle; her friend Anne Domanski; and her siblings, Rowland Jelsma (Karen), Eloise Hyink (Harlan) and Marva Guerriero (Anthony). She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
A burial will be held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Fairplains Cemetery (1105 Knapp St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Northlawn United Methodist Church (1157 Northlawn St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sandy's funeral fund at the funeral home.
