The memory of Robert VanGessel (Grand Rapids, Michigan), who passed away on February 13, 2025 at the age of 94, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances VanGessel and Anthony VanGessel. He is survived by: his siblings, Bill VanGessel, Eunice VanGessel Mitus, Ed VanGessel, Fran VanGessel and Jerry VanGessel; his grandson Timothy VanGessel Jr.; his brother Tom VanGessel; his wife Norma; and his children, Lynn Kahns (Mark), Barb Meconis (Bill), Tim VanGessel, Chris Botsford (Jon), Tony VanGessel (Lisa) and Michael VanGessel (Gayle). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A vigil service will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 at 4:30 PM at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary (3525 Remembrance Rd NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Anthony of Padua Church (2510 Richmond St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504).
