With solemn reverence, we commemorate Mervyn W. Smith D. (Grand Rapids, Michigan), whose life came to an end on March 1, 2025 at the age of 75, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris Smith and Leonard Smith. He is survived by: his children, Loreal, Kalia, Melissa, Jasmine, Danielle, Mariah, Nicholas and Noah; and his siblings, Errol, Albert, Maureen, Yvette, Lynette, Marilyn and Margaret. He is also survived by six grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Calvary Church (707 E Beltline Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525). A burial was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that charitable donations be made to the Class of 1974 Scholarship Fund at Bowdoin College, 4100 College Station, Brunswick, ME 04011, or to Mervyn Smith's surviving children, with donations directed to Mariah Smith in his memory.
