She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Sjoerdsma and Lillian Sjoerdsma (Brace); her husband Donald Kwiatkowski; her siblings, Earl Smith, Dorothy Crawford, Frank Smith and Mike Smith; and her stepfather Virgil Smith.

She is survived by: her children, Theresa Kwiatkowski and Tony Kwiatkowski; her granddaughters, Natalie and Avery; and her siblings, Tom Sjoerdsma (Jan), Ted Sjoerdsma (Kathy), Bonnie Jennett (Kiehl), Pauline Lovell (Ralph), Carol Wolters (Dave) and Betty Foster (Donny). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
