She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Holwerda and Hermine Holwerda; and her siblings, Tom and Merrie VerMerris. She is survived by: her sister Sandy; her siblings-in-law, David (Nancy VerMerris) and Jan Holwerda; her husband Lawrence Borst; her children, Lawrence, Laura (Walter Braunohler), David (Anya Borst), Daniel (Amy Borst) and Timothy Borst (Anna Worbois); and her grandchildren, Taryn, Nick Meekhof, Eliot Borst (Leeana Koster), Meredith Borst (Derrick Bittner), Aerin Braunohler, Emmy Braunohler, Leeza Borst, Alex Borst, Natalie Borst, Peter Borst and Simon Borst. She is also survived by her five children, her 10 grandchildren, and her two great-grandchildren.

Instead of flowers, the Borst family is honored to direct gifts to the Grand Rapids Christian School Foundation or the Grand Rapids Symphony.
