He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian Ione Beardsley and Arthur Rexford Skidmore; his son James Gregory; his adoptive father Rex; his stepfather Leo T. Shields; his aunt Myrtis; his uncle Leslie Bourgeois; his cousins, John Corser and Loretta Patchett; his great-aunt Nancy; his great-uncle Roscoe Colclasure; his cousins, Merle, Jackie, Clara May, Shirley Ann, Mary Jane and Robert Colclasure; his sister-in-law Lynn; and his close friends, Sandy Pellegrom, Lee Kalenda, Marian VandeBunte, Gerrit, Cathy VanMarkenstein, Joan Nelson and Esther Seymer.
He is survived by: his significant other Sally Anne Wanenmacher; his children, David (Ruth Ann) and Sue (Allison Miller); his grandchildren, David and Anna (Harrison Compton); his brother Robert, Sr. (Constance) of Nevada; his nephews, Robert, Jr. (Darlene) of Florida and Richard (Keehne) of Florida; his friend Matt Pellegrom; and his sister-in-law Sally Pellegrom.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (4145 Chicago Dr SW, Grandville, MI 49418). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
