James Bazen Sr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Bazen Sr. (Grand Rapids, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 12, 2024 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his great grandchild Mercy Tubergen; his siblings, Joanne Vanden Toorn (Bill), John Bazen Sr., Marinus Bazen (Ellen), Richard Bazen (Helen Oudendyk) and Rev. Peter Bazen; and his siblings-in-law, Geraldine Kwekel, Jim Rosendall, Cornelius Boerkoel and Marvin Van Ess.
He is survived by: his wife Barb Bazen; his children, Linda Spaans (John), James Bazen Jr. (Monica) and Karen Carlson (Randy); his grandchildren, John Spaans (Amber), Lauren Verhey (Len), Matthew Spaans (Bethany), Kristen Bazen, Meleah Tubergen (Joseph), James Bazen III (Addison), Adam Bazen (Rylee), Miriam Stuart (Eli), Hosanna Bijl (Cees), Hannah Bazen, Justus Bazen, Nathan Carlson (Bethany), Leah DeVries (Jonny), Anna Bakker (Nathan) and Jenna Carlson; his great grandchildren, Mya, Leah, Liam, Brooklyn, Nathan, Malia, Jacob, Caleb, Tenley, Tyler, Philip, Lauryn, Bryce, Nelson and Garrett; his sisters, Marie Rosendall and Gertrude Rosendall (Henry); and his siblings-in-law, Edith Bazen, Marge Bazen, Josephine Boerkoel, Lois Van Oostenbrugge (Karl), Betty Van Ess, Eleanor DeBruine (Gilbert), Jerry Phillips (Peggy) and Gary Kwekel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
