He was predeceased by: his parents, Douwe Werff and Cornelia Vander Werff (Honton); and his siblings, Remiegia Henrietta Vander Werff, Henrietta Bernadette De Young, Mary Leone Trudell, Lambert Robert Vander Werff, Buddy Godfrey Vander Werff, Francis Theodore Vander Werff and Dominic Matthias Vander Werff.
He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Ryder (Gerry); his children, Molly Klimas (Paul), Sara Vander Werff, Margaret Bollin (Phillip), Anne O'Neill (Marc), Rebecca DeWeerdt (David), Robert Vander Werff (Kelly), Rev. William Vander Werff and Matthew Vander Werff; and his sisters-in-law, Norma Vander Werff, Patricia Vander Werff and Bernadette Pniewski. He is also survived by six granddaughters, two grandsons, two great-granddaughters, six great-grandsons.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM and on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 9:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the O'Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Homes (3980 Cascade Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paul the Apostle Parish (2750 Burton St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Daniel J. Donnelly Endowment Fund (https://onrealm.org) at St. Paul the Apostle School or the Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) of Grand Rapids.
