He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Donna Lutz VanderPlas; his children, Ben VanderPlas (Alyson), Sara Keller (Joseph) and Jon VanderPlas (Meghan); his siblings, Thomas VanderPlas (Ruth), Mary Jo Huntington (Bill), Patti Brown and Cindy Taylor (Steve); his pet Bella; and his parents, William VanderPlas and Margaret VanderPlas (Scheibelhut). He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren; 22 nieces and nephews; his friends and family.
