He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph O'Connell and Mae O'Connell (Snyder); his brother Bryan O'Connell; his aunts and uncles, Guy Snyder (Mary), Barbra Hawkins, Donnis Redman, Ellen Martens (Everett), Carolee Fenner (Jim), Larry O'Connell (Lorena), Tom O'Connell, Bud O'Connell (Gracie), Jean O'Connell (Harold), Helen O'Connell (Russ) and Rosie Rademacher (Roman); and his close friend Jennifer Hoag.

He is survived by : his wife Marilyn O'Connell; his daughters, Rhonda Moore (Bill) and Kyle O'Connell; his grandson Dillon Yager; and his siblings, Diana Schumann, Lorretta Bowling (Bob), Lisa Larkin, Neil O'Connell (April) and Terry O'Connell (Sally). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many family friends.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, June 23rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Motz Park (4630 N Dewitt Rd, St Johns, MI 48879).
