Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Else Margrethe Sorensen of Grand Rapids, Michigan, born in Metuchen, New Jersey, who passed away at the age of 96, on January 6, 2025. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hans Rasmussen and Maren Rasmussen (Skipper); her husband James Sorensen; and her children-in-law, Deb Arthurs and Phil Ghysels.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Sorensen, Tom Sorensen, Patsy Ghysels and Craig Sorensen; her grandchildren, Derek Rundell, Austin Rundell, Chelsea Sorensen, Colin Sorensen, Andy Ghysels and Lisa Ghysels; and her great grandchildren, Breanna Wren, Aiden Malone, Zane Baker and Allison Ghysels.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church (3215 4 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Plainfield Township Cemetery (6100 Packer Dr NE, Belmont, MI 49306).
