He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Jean Dykstra (Kooienga). He is survived by: his brother Robert Dykstra; his children, Ellen Wilcox (Tom), James Dykstra (Kam) and Gregory Dykstra (Andrea); and his grandchildren, Justin Ogle (Lauren), Ryan Ogle (Jessica), Michael Ogle (Lorena), Jason Dykstra (Amber), Eric Dykstra (Nicole), Chris Dykstra, Claudia, Dylan and Hailey Dykstra. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
