He was predeceased by: his wife Deborah; his sons, Aaron Charles and Hangel Aaron; and his parents, Lawrence and Dolores.
He is survived by: his son Steffen (Melanie); his grandchildren, Aaron, Zeke, Penelope and Gwendolyn; his stepson Nathan Nivelt (Stacey); his stepgrandson Little Nate; his stepson Nathan Bouwkamp (Jill); his stepgrandchildren, Jack, Finley, Declan and Bohdi; his stepdaughter Melanie Bouwkamp; his brothers, David (Betty) and Scott (Nancy); his nieces, Rebecca (Dennis) and Rachel (Mike); and his cousin Jerry Nizinski (Karen). He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 8:00 PM at the Arsulowicz Brothers East Mortuary (937 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (1935 Plymouth Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506).
