She was predeceased by: her husband Roger; her son David; her parents, Kenneth Folkertsma and Dorothy Folkertsma; and her brother Jim.
She is survived by: her children, Roger Jr. Bonga (Marie), Pamela Eland (William), Patricia VanLiere (Keith) and Jon Bonga; and her grandchildren, Paul Eland (Stacey), Charles Eland (Jennifer), Tegan Lewis (Jonathan), Kendra Bonga, David II Bonga (Taylor), Allison VanLiere, Keelin Bonga, Andrew Weissenborn (Grace), Benjamin Weissenborn and Emily Weissenborn. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
