He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arnold Mater and Ina Mater (Powell); his wife Evelyn "Evie" of Sparta; his children, Karla Charles of Rockford, Kathy VanHouten (Steve) of Sparta, Arnie Mater (Pam) of Fremont, Lea Ann Jones (Terry) of Rockford and Lisa Kelly of Ferrysburg; and his siblings, Gayle Dore (Charles) of Fremont, Dolores Klomp (Glen) of Whitehall, Willie Johnson and Duane Mater. He was also cherished by 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.
