It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alvin Joseph Schumacher Sr. in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on January 18, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Schumacher and Agatha Schumacher (Striegle); his wife Rose Whipple; his grandson Nicholas Wernette; his great grandchild Charlotte Schumacher; and his in-laws, Mary Schumacher and Dale Schumaker (Kathy).
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Wernette (Fred), Al Schumacher Jr. (Susan), Ken Schumacher, Dave Schumacher (Carol), Julie Zomerlei (Larry) and Steve Schumacher (Carrie); his daughter-in-law Kris Schumacher; his grandchildren, Josh (Sara), Ryan, Grant (Hannah Margaret), Luke (Macaela), Allie, Dustin (Lety), David (Lauren), Samantha (Xavier), Jordan (Jordan Alderton), Mikayla (Brandon), Tyler, Lexi (Tim), Dustyn, Bradyn, Isaiah, Camila, Nevaeh, Amelia, Andrew, Alivia and Eli; his siblings, Bob Schumacher, Dick Schumacher (Nancy) and Bernie Zomberg (Tom); and his in-laws, Dan Whipple (Sandy), Susan Nyburg, Alan Whipple (Marge) and Lori Newcombe (Ron).
In memory of Al and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic School or North Allegan County Right to Life.
