She is survived by: her stepgrandfather John Christian Jacobsen (Chum); her husband Lee; her children, Ruth DeJager (Rick), Jerome Nickels (Robert Byrens), Mark Nickels and James Nickels; her daughter-in-law Julie Nickels; her close friends, Theresa Nickels (Rod Lowe) and Kate Nickels (Kathryn); her grandchildren, Ben DeJager (Jess), Teya DeJager, Kate Nickels, Matt Nickels (Lauren), Heather Nickels, Aaron Nickels (Ashley) and Tristan Nickels; her stepgrandchildren, Rowan Bixler, Ayden Bixler and Sophia Bixler; her great grandchildren, Kyla Tramper, Tessa Nickels, Ella Nickels, Will Nickels and Emma Estelle Nickels; her sister-in-law Joann Nickels; and her close friends, Della Ade (Jeff) and Rose Schenk (Bob). She is also survived by her parents, grandparents, all her siblings and their spouses, and many of her cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 2:10 PM to 3:10 PM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (2230 Lake Michigan Dr NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods or Holy Spirit Church.
