It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Verd Rumfield Jr. (Grand Ledge, Michigan), born in Charlotte, Michigan, who passed away on December 11, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Verd Rumfield and Anna Rumfield Sr. (Mallory); his former wife Sally Rumfield (VanGansbeke); and his siblings, Robert Rumfield and Elizabeth Rumfield (Hunt).
He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Meg" Rumfield (Wise); his children, Valerie Wright (Christopher) and Michael Rumfield (Cathy); his stepson Dr. David Christy (Jennifer Kuhlman); and his grandchildren, Sean Rumfield and Krista Wells (Jason).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (510 W Ottawa St, Lansing, MI 48933). The military honors was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Meadowbrook Cemetery.
