He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Thocker and Clara Thocker; his wife Marlene; and his son Todd. He is survived by: his children, Jeffery Thocker (Jori), Michelle Smethurst (Joseph) and Matthew Thocker (Thomas); and his sisters, Gwendolyn Tisdale (Terry) and Maryanna Foster. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lansing Fire Department Honor Guard.
