He was predeceased by: his parents, Hiram Combs and Gertrude Combs (Daniels); his grandson Jason VanScyoc; his great grandchild Christopher VanScyoc; and his siblings, Marjorie Stidham, Della Dyke, Burl and Bill.
He is survived by: his wife Elois (Smith); his children, Vicki VanScyoc (Kenneth), Rick H. (Karen) and Robert E. "Ed"; his grandchildren, Lisa Wallace (Rick), Sean VanScyoc, Angela McCuiston, Joshua Combs (Sarah Rachel), Mitchell Combs (Whitley) and Kelli Jo Combs; and his great grandchildren, Victoria Perkins, Andrew Buffenbarger, Chase VanScyoc and Hudson Combs.
Memorial contributions in Jim's name may be given to Springbrook Hills Church of Christ, 11960 Norris Road, DeWitt, Michigan 48820.
