He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra Ohler; his sister Beverly; his brothers-in-law, Jack Kenny and John Bickert; and his son-in-law Garry Shawa.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cherie VanValkenburgh, Debra Shawa and Brenda Trew (Dave); and his sister Lila Bickert. He is also survived by five grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
